Open Question: washing machine rotates but does not agitate?

it filled with water, and the drum just rotates; it doesnt agitate (i.e. wash). i then skipped forward to the spin and rinse and that part worked, so the only problem is the agitation. any ideas? to the first answer, like i wrote in my question; its simply rotates instead of agitating. and it kind of hums as it does this, but a normal rotating hum. hmmm at least 10 years i suppose..... it worked fine until we moved, then it had a few different problems and fixed itself. sometimes it decided not work at all, sometimes washed but didnt spin, etc. i am guessing it was bumped around in the removal truck. would that make it mechanical or electronic? (thanks for your help!)

Open Question: Need some help with my dryer!?

I have a Whirlpool dryer, not sure what model, but the front says Commercial Quality/Super Capacity. Not sure if that'll help or not, lol, but that's what it is. Anyway, I went to dry a load of clothes yesterday, and noticed a few pieces of lint puff out of the back, and now my dryer takes FOREVER to dry a load of clothes. The load I took out this morning took THREE turns to fully dry. Any ideas of what I could do at home? I don't exactly have the money right now to call a repair guy, etc... My husband was supposed to look at it yesterday, but he never did, and I NEED to get laundry done today! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!! =)
