Open Question: How do I get my (5) roommates to clean their dirty dishes?My roommates don't do their dishes regularly. Right now there are plates of food sitting on our counter that have been there for over 2 weeks, yes over 14 days. There's so much rotting food and standing water that we've accumulated flies and mosquitoes. I fight myself not to do them for my roommates because I know that would just validate their behavior or lack there of. I've talked to them all individually and have put out 2 short written notes (post-it size/length) in the last 6 months but no one has followed through with what they've told me they would take care of.. which has simply been to have dishes clean within a "timely manner." I would talk to my landlord about it but she's very "hands-off" on all house matters unless it involves something legal. She doesn't like to be bothered with trivial problems among the roommates. I would move but I don't have the cash for a new deposit. I'm in school, broke and super busy. Any enlightenment would be nice :) Thank you in advance!
