Open Question: How does Tide ruin your clothes?

My mom has used Tide for about my whole life, ever since I was little (And this special "chef" stuff). After she quit her career and we moved to Japan for a while, she stopped/shunned a few things, Tide included. Suddenly she says that Tide absolutely ruins your clothes (And I can't remember if she told me why, and if she did, what the reason was) I'm wondering if this rumor is true, or if it's just a result of her being resentful of everything in her past life. I've done research on the internet, and polls say that Tide is the best, and the stores show it too, the shelves are stocked with Tide, which shows high demand. Is it just the Total Care that she's worried about because everyone is else freaking out about it?

Open Question: Why are there water like stains on my clothes after I wash it?

After I wash my clothes, there are always these stains on it that look like water, but the clothes is dry! If I wash it again the stains come off but they might appear in other spots. Does anyone know what this is from? I've tried switching detergents already and it didn't help.
