Open Question: Cleaning a GE Electric Cooktop?

I have a GE Electric cooktop and my niece set a cloth kitchen towel on one of the burners while it was hot. Now there's this whitish burn smeared over the front small burner. I have the abrasive stove cleaner stuff, but I was wondering before I try it if there's any tricks I can try that'll get it off, or if it's probably ruined for good. Thanks!

Open Question: How do I get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke from my home?

I have two smokers who live in my house. I hate the smell. My grandmother used to put a cup of ammonia by the door to get rid of the smell. Does this really work? Please don't say "quit smoking". I also have a bird so I need something that isn't harmful to him. Thanks in advance.

Open Question: How do you get an ink stain off jeans?

I stained my favourite jeans about a month ago, and I completely forgot about it, so the ink is dry by now. Is there any way to get it out? Does the hairspray still work even if the stain has been dry for a month or so?
