Open Question: What is a good cleaning agent (available in U.K.) to remove chip pan fat?

from walls and ceilings? I need something that will not need a lot of pressure as I will have to use it on the end of a sponge mop on places that are hard to reach and will not be able to apply much pressure at all because I have one arm in a sling. I think I need something that would virtually dissolve the fat so that it can be just wiped off. The filter in my pan seems to have failed, even though it is almost new. It looks a terrible mess and I just don't know what to use for this purpose, which won't take a lot of effort.
