I have this washing machine and when it's on the whites programme, it partially fills with water then lets some out before filling it to the required amount (taking my washing powder with it). I've had the washing machine engineer out and he says that it's meant to do that as it's deciding how much water the load needs. I'm not so sure as to whether this is right as it empties away some of my washing powder with it.
