Open Question: Why is the towel dirty? and more... Open Question: Why is the towel dirty?Somethin i dont get is.. you put a clean towel up in the bathroom, people wash their hands, then dry their clean hands on it. So why does the towel end up dirty and stained a few days later, If you were drying clean hands on the towel, wouldnt it stay clean? Open Question: What can I use to clean palstic residue off of a light bulb?I dusted my bathroom light fixtures with a brush made of plastic fibers..and it immediately stuck to the warm bulb. How can I clean this off? Open Question: To save water! Hand wash or dishwasher?Open Question: Why do some of my rooms smell of urine?Hi, We've recently moved into a new house and one of the rooms smells slightly of urine. The room was previously used as a bedroom, but by an adult, and I assume the cause it not actually bed wetting. Is there anything else this might be? Cheers. Open Question: does shamwow really work?Open Question: How to come up with a strategy and schedule so I can get the most done with the time I have?I know how to clean, do dishes, laundry, etc. But I have never had to clean a entire house that lacks the things that are done on a normal basis in a normal household. The house that I volunteered to clean by myself had not been lived in for 2.5 years because a car hit it and left permanent structural damage that the average person could not afford to repair. My mom left the house messy, as in didn't sweep when she left. My grandmother moved in 10 months ago and only cleaned it halfway a month before she moved in. She did some work to each part of the house, swept, and replaced the wallpaper in the dining room with paint. She did not wipe down any of the wallpapered bedroom walls, disinfect the bedrooms etc. The carpet is coming up in some of the bedrooms, the kitchen carpet looks like it needs scrubbed (all of the carpet- actually) and it is just a complete mess. After only cleaning it halfway 11 months ago, she has only done basic upkeep to the home like sweeping the kitchen once per week so often, and the carpets elsewhere have only been swept two or three times since 11 months ago. There are about 10 loads of laundry that need to be done, a few loads of dishes need to be done, the beds need to be swept out, the carpets in 9 total rooms need swept (possibly scrubbed- but I can't do that yet), the walls need to be wiped down and disinfected (previous owners smoked in the house for 50+ years as does the current resident), the refrigerator needs to be cleaned and disinfected, the bathrooms need some serious cleaning and disinfecting (I'm afraid to clean that due to sexually transmitted diseases that some visitors have had), clothes piled on top of every dresser that need washed, folded and put away, among a hundred other things. It's just overwhelming for one person to do. 5 years ago, it was such a beautiful home and still is. It could be fixed up and eventually I would like to purchase the home later in life seeing as I am only currently 18, fix the foundation and do any of the repairs. But if the home is not being maintained then my dream will crumble (as well as the home) right in front of my eyes. I would rather do a clean sweep of the home and visit once or twice a month to make sure it is being taken care of, then to watch the inside become unlivable because no one stepped in to help. There isn't mold in it yet, nor does it have mice or any other rodent/ bug yet. Tonight, I will begin my job and I will be there for 8-10 hours. How can I come up with a strategy and schedule so that I can get as much done as I can with the time I have? I have no idea where to start or what should take priority. What is the first- and the last- things that should be done? Or does it even matter which way it is cleaned? Also, she has a lot of cleaning product though I'm not sure how much, but is there any cleaning products that I should bring just in case she doesn't have it? Thanks. When I do take over the house- when my grandmother dies- I do not want to be left with even more of a mess to deal with. So I figure I may as well start now and my grandmother agreed. Open Question: Can I return a jacket back to JD sports thats I have already wore and washed?Hi, on the 23rd of December 2009 I bought a jacket from JD sports, I wore it the other week and it seemed fine so I took the tags off but, it was only when I went back to college last tuesday It looked massive. Anyway I remember what someone told me about putting certain things in the dryer, so I washed the jacket by hand and put it in the dryer and to be honest I don't even know what settings... and it hasn't changed. So now I'm wondering what to do its a decent jacket and I have the reciept, will they accept with no tags? Give me money back or exchange it? What do you think? Thanks alot anyway.
