Open Question: my teens use the towels to...?

they use the towels to wipe up mud from the floor, the dogs paws, etc. now all my towels are dingy grey after I wash them. what can be done to brighten them? or is it permanent. my teens dont listen well. I have a whole freaking closet of white rags, but the husband and the kids just use my towels on whatevre they see fit. Im going to go scream now. bye bye

Open Question: urgent : how does detergent break down oil and ketchup stains ? (specifically tide)?

I was wondering how oil and ketchup is removed by laundry detergent on a plain white shirt (like how the enzymes break down the stains, etc.), more specifically on Tide ? (I am performing a science experiment and i need an explanation of how detergent breaks down these stains) Thanks :)

Open Question: How do remove singe marks on the thigh area of my black trousers?

The dry cleaners obviously had the press too hot. Is there any way of getting the "orange" singe marks out?
