I need some tipes to help me keep them as bran-spanking-new as possible. Please and Thank You. :) Open Question: Is it bad to dry non permanent press clothes on the permanent press dryer setting?I like to do this because at my school the dryers do not have a cool down cycle on the whites/colors dryer setting, so clothes become unbearably wrinkled and shrink down to practically nothing. Does this seem ok? I'm not much of a laundry expert! **Will pick a best answer** Open Question: I had to wash my clothes in warm/perm press twice, will the colors be all right?I live in a dumpy old apartment complex where someone recently pooped in a washing machine and several others have been filled with murky water for weeks. A few work and recently only the warm/perm press setting has worked on the washer. I always use cold water and perm press for drying. Naturally, since I have to pay to use these machines it costs too much to seperate everything and a laundrymat is too far away for such a little amount of clothes. I have only washed my clothes on warm/perm press twice now, but will be using the cold setting again from now on. Did using the warm/perm press setting do any real damage to my colors or clothing? Open Question: best way to ship clothes?my wife's cousin recently lost her home (and everything in it) in a fire, she has 2 young children and we got a bunch of clothes for them from friends and family. The only problem is we got about 80 lbs of clothes, she is in NC and we're in PA. Any advice as to the most economical way to ship them. Open Question: We can't get the smell out of our couches... any ideas?We have a three piece couch set, that was sitting in someone's country garage for six months. When we picked it up, all three pieces smelled of moisture and dust. We vacuumed them, and also bought several cans of upholstry cleaner with a scrub brush on the end, and used ALL 7 cans. What else can we try to get rid of the smell? Steam cleaning? We have used febreeze :/ Open Question: What kind of washer and dryer do you own and how old are they?Do they still work? Denis you are a regular card ain't ya? I have a washer and dryer that are both Maytag. I bought them in 1991 so they are old. But still work perfectly. The dryer is a bit noisy because the rollers are worn but it dries things perfectly. I will take a star if you liked my question. Thanks.
