Open Question: How to safely shrink this shirt? It has writing on it?

I got a t-shirt I really like from the Nike store, the only problem was that the smallest size they had was an XL, and I'm a large. The shirt has a picture on it, not just in the actual fabric, but also with a design made of something shiny that isnt fabric. The label says: Machine wash cold with like colors (the shirt is white) Remove immediately, tumble dry low Cool iron (do not iron design) Do not dry clean. I don't want to ruin the shirt, but it really is too big. Is there any way to shrink it without ruining it? Thanks! by the way, this is the shirt: http://www.freshnessmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/nike-carpe-diem-cork-379298-100-02.jpg
