Open Question: My couch got rained on, should i be worried about mold or mildew?

I recently visited my local furniture store to purchase a large item, when i was loading it in my truck i noticed a set of couches laying by the garbage. after inspecting them i ask a worker why they were there, he informed me that because they have a couple of rips in them, they can not be resold, so the store puts it out by the garbage to either be thrown away or taken by someone for free. So i took the couches home with me, after removing the plastic from the couches i notice some rain had gotten on them and some places were wet. Now i have talked to some people and i keep getting different answers, I can fix the rips myself thats no problem, but people have told me that because the couches were out in the rain and are wet in some place's they will grow mold. Is this true? And they couldn't of been out in the rain that long because it only rained the morning of that day. So should i throw them away or will i be fine and i should keep them?

Open Question: Washing black chef jackets, is dry cleaners best option?

My husband has recently switched to wearing black chef jackets and I'm wondering if the best option is to take them to the dry cleaners rather then doing them myself. I should note his kitchen doesn't have a grill or deep fryer (although they do use a lot of butter, olive oil ect so greasy stains will appear I'm sure) so I'm not sure if that means there will be less "nasty" stains to deal with. My one friend told me to buy the detergent for dark clothes if I decide to do them myself, but I'm wondering if a dry cleaners would be a better option overall since I'm told they don't usually fade dark clothes as quickly as a machine washer would. Suggestions? Anybody have an idea how much it might cost using a dry cleaners on average? He has 3 I'd need to wash/take in weekly.

Open Question: Anyone have any tips on how to keep the feathers from poking out of my feather pillows?

I love the comfort of my feather down pillows, but they tend to poke out and scratch the heck out of me. I fluff them everyday, but they still poke out through the pillow in places. Any solutions?

Open Question: how do I clean black mold stains off of bathtub caulk?

How can I clean bathtub caulk that has been stained black with mold? I've tried an array of household cleaners including bleach. I scrub my bath tub spotless, but the mold on the caulk remains. I think it may have developed behind it, but I rent, so I can't just remove the caulk. I would rather try everything I can to clean it before I have to show this unsightly mess to the landlord and ask her if I can remove the caulk.
