Open Question: How to remove marker from locker?

I recently wrote a little message on my friend's locker. Unfortunately, now it won't come off. It's not one of those permanent sharpies, but some kind of highlighter from Japan. I've tried rubbing it, and using water, but neither work. What should I do?

Open Question: Strange somewhat sweet, nauseating smell coming from vents?

I just moved into a new apartment/condo. I noticed when I moved in that it had a weird smell and I assumed it was left over from some sort of air freshener. I have been trying for over a week to get rid of it. I've had my windows open, heat and air blasting, burning candles, sage, and inscence. Nothing has worked. A few days ago I started investigating the smell and noticed that it is coming from the vents. If I run the heat or air the smell starts to go away, but never fully disappears, and if they are off it gets worse. What could this be? It is a very strong, offensive, and worrisome smell.
