Open Question: Safest way to clean a variety of shoe types?

I've been sick for too long and in a depression for almost a year--now it's starting to lift and I'm trying to do some spring cleaning but feel like my mind is still in a fog (I have fibromyalgia) and don't want to damage my shoes. I have all sorts--leather, suede, (also imitation leather and suede), sneakers, flip flops, and all other sorts. Boots, dressy, pumps, sandals, flip flops, slippers of all sorts--seems like I have a little of each material. Some I'm going to be giving away but wanted to clean them up first. The dust is easy-I will just use a gentle cloth. But some need a bit more and that includes the soles-especially the sandals. I hate it when the soles look dirty and you take them off somewhere even though you keep feet clean. Just happens with the heat and sweating and wear etc.... Any sites or suggestions to make them all look fresh and nice again? Warnings of what not to use?

Open Question: Whats the best way to get all the broken glass out of the bath?

My candle holder felt in to the empty bath. I picked the bigger pieces out and washed away the really small pieces. I don't think I've got rid of it all though. Thanks.

Open Question: How come my housemate won't let me buy him a new electric dishwasher?

I'm the one that gets the kitchen and dishes clean all the time. It's my designated chore. The dishwasher we have now is a piece of "manure". I'm so upset with it. I hate cheap stuff. Never buy a Whirlpool dishwasher. They suck

Open Question: easiest/cheapest way to clean a large copper basin?

i have a large(ish) copper basin that's been pretty thoroughly oxidized and i want to restore its shine and use it as a planter. i remember using coca cola to clean off pennies when i was a kid, would something like that work now? the corrosion is so great and the tub is so large that i don't want to spend a week scrubbing at it with harsh chemicals, i'm hoping someone will know an easier and cheaper way to get the green off and make it gleam.
