Open Question: How come some people are terrible at washing up?

I don't understand how people are bad at this; 1)you scrub the plate 2)rinse it 3)then put it on the drying rack I've met so many students at university who leave bits of food on it etc. I understand they may never have done washing up since coming to university but can they not see that its clearly not be cleaned properly?! It's not like its a science!!!!!

Open Question: Is it very bad to use regular laundry detergent in an energy efficient washing machine?

I am about to buy this $400 Frigidaire front load energy efficient 3.5 cubic feet washing machine, and I wonder if it would hurt to use regular non "HE" (High Efficiency) detergent on occasion? I mean, what happens if I use regular Dollar Tree dirt cheap laundry detergent ($1 for 42 fluid ounces) maybe every 3rd or 4th wash? Will I open the washer lid to see millions of tiny bubbles everywhere, or will the washing machine explode, or what? Serious answers please. I appreciate the earlier answers today about an energy efficient washing machine, but now I am wondering about the "hazards" of using regular laundry detergent on occasion. Thanks so much.

Open Question: How do I kill my appliances?

We just bought a house and we also bought a warranty with the house. (which was $400) The warranty will cover all appliances if they break in the next year. The only way that the appliances will get replaced by warranty is if they break, due to mechanical failure, or due to wear and tear. They are not the oldest appliances, and they dont look bad, on the outside, however, the dishwasher does not clean my dishes all that well, and the pull out baskets are missing pieces, and rusting. I have put CLR in the dishwasher, and ran it, to try and fix this. I have also tried cleaning with a sponge. I used Lime-away where the water comes out because i heard that it helps "clean the dishwasher" so that it doesn't leave spots on your dishes. nothing seems to work. The fridge- some of the seal around the door of the fridge is breaking off- which means we are paying more in electricity to cool down the fridge. the same with the freezer. the freezer also does not get too "frozen"-- at least it takes a while for it to reach the temp it should be at. so, id like to murder my appliances :)

Open Question: Can I put an iron wine bottle rack with glass outside the house?

A while back, I bought a beautiful iron bottle rack wine bar holder at an auction at a very high end furniture store. I think it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet in height and about 3 1/2 in length. Its all in black and has beautiful grapes and leaves but all in iron. A glass sits on top of the rack for wine glasses. It just does not match the inside of our NEW house. I was thinking about taking it out side under a wood porch. I will REALLY match the black patio table. I just don't know if it will rust and wonder if I should pray it with some kind of protection. Any suggestions?

Open Question: Best way to remove excess dye from new jeans?

I bought a new pair of dark denim jeans, and when I wore them they tinted my skin blue, so I know for sure there will be a ton of dye that comes out of them. The problem is, I live in an apartment and it gets expensive for me to wash things separately. Is there another way for me to remove the excess dye from my pants before i wash them with the rest of my clothes?
