Open Question: Can I use dishwasher detergent instead of liquid bleach when washing my whites?

I am doing laundry, and am out of Liquid bleach- I figure I'll use some dishwasher soap; as its is primarily powdered Chlorine bleach. Please- no Googled answers; If I wanted that I would have just done that. Thanks.

Open Question: What do I do about a rusted Iron skillet?

I know, I know, you're not supposed to let an iron skillet soak in water, not supposed to wash it like most pans. But there it is -- I looked through a bunch of things I had in storage, and one item in the kitchen supplies was a rusted iron skillet. I don't know how it rusted, but anyway, is it trash now? Or is there a way to renovate it?

Open Question: How do I remove old folds out of my military jacket?

I have a jacket from the Vietnam war that I love wearing, but where ever it was stored for years before I aquired it the collar was folded and the buttons folded back. I'd really like to remove these folds but ironing doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Open Question: would like an educated answer?

OK so this might sound crazy butt...? I have a 7 month old baby, and since she has been born i have not cooked any raw meat, or allowed sandwich meat and hot dogs to brought into my fridge. Why? For fear of bacteria. You see I have a hard time getting anyone in my home to wash their hands (husband and father-in- law), and am afraid that when they go into the kitchen to make a sandwich which may or may not contain listeria that the bacteria will then get spread all over, and then I come along to make my baby a bottles and then she will get sick from it. Is that possible? Are there any new Mothers that can tell me what they do, or how to handle my insanity? Because its causing a real problem with my husband and I. Thanks in advance.

Open Question: Puppy pee stains on floor? With a steam cleaner?

I have a steam water cleaner. I think it actually isn't a steam cleaner but a "Little Green Machine" by Bissel. It is ok on stains but sometimes leaves a light yellow mark so I was wondering how to get the pee stain out completely so the carpet is clean!
