Open Question: Is there a way to get set-in stains out of clothes?

I got a brand new hooded sweatshirt last week. It's dark purple and is a cotton/polyester blend, Converse, so the fabric is strong. Anyway, I wore it for one day, and then threw it in the wash without really looking at it because nothing happened to it (that I know of) while I was wearing it. When I took it out of the dryer, it had a big stain on the front that was just a darker shade of purple, like the sweater was just wet, or something. Anyway, I'm a little... er... Aggravated. I have absolutely no clue what the stain is from. The day I wore it, I didn't spill any food or drinks on it, or play in the mud (like I usually do, lol). So, I don't know why it's there, but it's there. -_-;; It did go through the dryer before I noticed. Is there any way to get stains like that out of cotton/polyester blends? Or any variety of fabrics you may know techniques for? I love to do laundry.

Open Question: Is it actually possible to shrink clothes in the wash?

I was dieting and lost some weight. Instead of being a medium shirt size, I'm an extra small now. I'm really uncomfortable with clothes that hang off my back and fit too loosely, but, being a girl, I did put a lot of thought into the clothes I bought when I was a medium, and I do love them. So, if it's true that you can shrink clothes in the wash in a way that won't totally wreck them, can you all please share your successful methods? I don't want to ruin my clothes, because they're perfectly good and would be better off donated, but I would still like to wear them if I can.

Open Question: How can I get this highliter out??

My bro got higlighter on his hand ans put it on my white T. It smeared a little. I put it through the wash like regular and I saw there were some very faint marks. Then someone put it through the dryer. It is an all white shirt with ''Hurley'' across in blue. How can I get it out after it;s been through the dryer?

Open Question: How do I get pen marks out of a white baseball cap?

I got this white Nike baseball hat a few months ago, but recently it was in the same bag as an open ballpoint pen and well.. it now has marks all over it. Today I tried to get them out using a Tide to Go pen and that faded it, but you can still see it. Any suggestions on how remove the stains?
