Open Question: I want to wash my shirts like a dry cleaner using my washing machine, is it possible?

I know the method which dry cleaners use is different from that of a domestic washing machine, my problem is that after washing my shirts in my washing machine for a couple of months 2-3 months, it doesnt look as smart/shiny as it was before. My theory is that there must be some kind of liquid or additive that i can add to my normal washing cycle and it willl bring out the best result, searching ebay I can see some things but I want recomendations from other people. I currently use Persil and pour the fabric softner in at thesame time before washing starts. Any ideas people ?

Open Question: How can i clean this paper mache?

I have recently inherited a paper mache cat from my late Great Aunt. However, she was a heavy smoker, and the cat is covered in dust and cigarette ash etc. What can i use to clean this without damaging it? (Preferably something i can find around the home, nothing too expensive to buy.) Thankyou :)
