Open Question: Can I use lemon oil on a wood cutting board?

I have a wood cutting board and the finish has really come off. I would lileto know if I can use lemon oil on it (Old English brand). It says it moisturizes it, and protects it against drying and cracking. For all natural woods. It also had a warning not to swallow because it has petroleum distillates in it. So is it safe to use on my cutting board?
