Open Question: How to get rid of vacuum burned rubber smell?

So tonight i was vacuuming my room and i think a piece of rubber and alot of hair got caught it in. I kept vacuuming for another minute or two before realizing it, it was even smoking. After i removed it, it was working and didnt smell as bad. But my entire house reeks of burned rubber! I feel bad because I dont want people breathing in the toxic fumes. I opened up windows and put a large fan in the area. Is there anything else i can do to get rid of the smell? thanks for any responses
