Open Question: How to get rid of the smell of mold and musk?

My house was built in the 1920's so my basements is very old and smells moldy and musky. I don't have the money right now to fix it up so is there anyway to help a basement absorb dampness and get the smell out. It gets through my whole house.

Open Question: Crockpot: How to get out cooking stains?

I bought a crockpot from a thrift store that works great, but it had no instructions.I just started using it and I love it. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is how to remove stains in the cookware after I cook in it. I have used grease cutting dish soap, oil, vinegar, light weight scrubbing pad. Nothing I have used will remove the discoloring. When I purchased it, it was like new white and no discoloring. Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, thank you, the ceramic insert.
