Open Question: How do I get my faux fur throw blanket back silky again? and more... Open Question: How do I get my faux fur throw blanket back silky again?I bought a faux fur throw and I put it in the washing machine and dryer, but the care instructions say "dry clean only". The look and feel is not silky and soft anymore and I would like to know how to get it back silky again. Open Question: I burnt popcorn (very badly) on the stove, how can I get the smell of fire out of my home?I was poping popcorn (on the stove, kind of like an air popper)... and my mom called with news that my little brother smacked his head on a metal pole and she was bringing him to the hospital (trampoline), and needed to drop off my other 2 siblings to sleep over for the night. I turned the dial on the stove to "off" to take the phone call and pay attention to what my mom was saying. WELL, i THOUGHT i turned the dial to off - but actually i turned it a smidge too much and turned it to HIGH! ... several minutes later my smoke alarm was going crazy and the popcorn was burnt like ive never seen before... This was 3 days ago. My home still smells. I've vaccumed and used my bissle carpet shampooer. I've washed all the curtians in my house, the garbage with the burnt popcorn was taken out immediately and the pot was washed. I've wiped down the walls and I'm in the proccess of washing all of the blankets (I have a lot of throw blankets)... When ever I go out for the day and come back home (yesterday and the day before) .. my house smells as though there was a serious fire here. The smell was sticking to all of our clothes (I had to re-wash several loads of clean clothes)... luckily it doesnt seem to be sticking to the clothes anymore (either that or i got used to it)... I've been keeping my windows open to air the place out... what else can I do to get rid of the smell (not just to mask the smell with an odor spray or candles..but what other cleaning do I need to do to actually get rid of the smell)...
