Every now and then (at least 5 times a year), the washer will "eat" a piece of clothing, leaving it tattered as if a dog had chewed it up. It's obviously frustrating since I try and keep my clothes nice and a waste of money when I have to replace the clothes. I tried calling Whirlpool and they said that since the washer is out of warranty (we bought it in 2006) that all they can do is set up an appointment to have someone look at it. I really don't have the money to waste on repair people coming out and telling me there's nothing they can do. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get Whirlpool to acknowledge that there's a problem with their washers? I understand it's out of warranty but this is rediculous!
