Open Question: What is simulated leather? We are vegetarians and I wanted to buy new sofas for our living room. I liked the idea of leather, because I thought it would be hard wearing with the children. I had made my mind up to have material sofas as I didn't want animal skins. Today I went into the local shop to ask if they did faux leather sofas. I got rather confused, because the man said they did, but he called everything leather. In the end when he took me upstairs to show me the sofas he was talking about, I said to him "So this is not made from animal skin". He said no, but he didn't know what it was. He said it is leatherette, but didn't know what it was made from. I said it can't be legal to call it leather, when it isn't. He told me it was as simulated leather. I asked him if it was all right with trading standards and it is apparently. Then I asked him how would I know what is animal skin and what is artificial, he told me it is all in the price. Under £500 and it is probably not animal skin. So what is simulated leather that they make sofas out of, what is it called (it's proper name). I know of a very wonderful material called Lorica, but it is more expensive than leather. Open Question: How can I clean my toilet better, it gets really dirty really fast?We moved into this house a yr ago. It was built in 1975. All the toilets are original. They could all be replaced but work fine. I have to clean them more often and more agressively than any other toilet that I have had in the past. But this one particular one, probably the most used toilet in this house gets so dirty SO FAST! on the very bottom it has a thick film that I can not clear away. The sides get a film on it within days of cleaning it and then you can see it kind of lingering in the water? Any advice suggestions? I don't think we will be replacing it anytime soon. I've tried regular toilet cleaners. I've tried Ajax powder and scrubbing at it...HELP!
